Candidate for the position of Students' Union President

Why do you want to run for this position?
During my tenure of study and working with the BCU Students Union for past 4 years, I have delivered my duties as a school rep, leading societies’, Student Voice Assistant and as a current Elected VP Student Voice, I have improved my capabilities and established the leadership skills by working with the Student Feedback, considering it central to all work.

I have made sure my objectives are achieved. I would like to continue my duties further and if elected, I am confident for holding the position of President at BCUSU.

 

What would your priorities be if you were elected?

  • Enhancing the student experience by working closely with the university administration and making sure student voices are heard.
  • Promoting the students’ union facilities by increasing student participation and encourage them to get involved in Activities and Representation.
  • Enhance student welfare: Ensure that the university provides adequate support services for mental and physical health and prioritize the well-being of all students. 
  • Promote diversity and inclusivity: Ensure that all students feel included and welcome at the university, regardless of their race, gender, sexuality, religion, or nationality.

 

What skills and experience do you have that would make you a good Officer?

Alongside my studies, I have been associated with multiple groups and volunteered for the benefits of communities, which helped me in establishing my Leadership skills.

I have proficiency in Public Speaking, Communication, Strategic Thinking & Partnership, Relationship-Building and a commitment to Student Well-Being & Representation which is also recognised by the university.

My achievements:

  1. I have been nominated and Shortlisted for IAMBCU Awards for categories of
    a. Inspirational student of the year (2020-2021)
    b. Community Hero of the year (2021)
     
  2. Team of the year (Enactus BCU)-Highly Commended (2022).
     
  3. Roaries Award (Nominated; School rep of the year
