About LGBTQ+ Society

At BCUSU LGBTQ+ Society, we host socials, meetings and events for all LGBTQ+ students and allies at BCU.

We provide a safe space to meet other people, raise awareness of LGBTQ+ rights and campaign on issues affecting us. If there is something affecting your time at University - we want to know!

Check out our events listings for rooms and what we have planned. We have an active Discord server for our members, to join just sign up as a member and get in touch via email or via Instagram with confirmation of your membership.

Birmingham Pride

Each year we take part in the annual Birmingham Pride, one of the UK's largest two-day Pride festivals.

LGBT+ History Month

Every February, we work with the university and Students' Union to plan a month of fantastic and informative events to mark LGBT+ History Month. In 2023, we took part in the Students' Union's Queer Icons social media campaign and even took a trip to National Student Pride in London!

We hold events across the year so check out the What's On page for more information - keep your eyes peeled for 2025!

We are a Liberation Society.

BCUSU's Liberation Societies are student groups who represent either an NUS-defined liberation characteristic, or something which aligns to the values of the Union.

These groups are free to join and are funded by your Students' Union for their events and activities. To see the full range of Liberation Socieites, click here.
