About Us
We know that uni can be stressful sometimes - and even more so with the uncertainty these past couple of years. Crafty Bitches is a relaxed, friendly society that meets once a week during term to learn crafts and chill out.
We are, always have been, and always will be, a place where anyone can come, take a little time out of their week to do something therapeutic and fun with a bunch of great people. It’s a safe space to forget your worries and stresses and take some time to focus on doing something you will enjoy and by the end of each session you accomplish something new.
Learn new skills for your own enjoyment or find a new hobby. Lots of varied crafts, from knitting and crochet to origami and embroidery and much, much more. With your membership subscription, you will receive a free starter kit of crochet hook, knitting needles, and an embroidery hoop, as well as any materials you need for any sessions throughout the year!
We are always on the lookout for more crafts to try, so if you have anything you’ve been dying to try, let us know!
Previous projects have included Innocent Smoothie hats for the big knit, love hearts, decoupage, glitter jars, embroidery and fish in jars. A couple of years ago we did a campus-wide yarn bomb and are always looking for more fun projects to get stuck in with; big or small.
We enjoy regular socials - fun events for everyone to get involved!
>> We meet every Tuesday from 6:00pm 'til 7:30pm in the Social Learning Space, located on the third floor of Millennium Point/Parkside Building. We hope to see you there! <<
Please note: we post all of our weekly tutorials into our Discord server which you can join here: https://discord.gg/bfNsdjH2PG
You can join the society at any time in the academic year, and all annual memberships will expire on 31st August.
Our aims for this year:
1. To collaborate with other societies to improve our sense of community.
2. To fundraise for a small charity.
3. To be a fun and welcoming environment for all, planning regular socials.
Give It A Go!
