Students can enjoy 40% off food and 25% off hot/cold coffee pod drinks across campus outlets*
Since Monday 19th February, the discount scheme has replaced the Winter Saver Menu across BCU catering outlets operated by BaxterStorey.
The discounts are another example of how prices are being reduced on campus to support students during the cost of living crisis, BCUSU outlets have also reduced prices of their period products and meal deals against high street stores.
All initiatives couldn't have been possible without student feedback collected by BCUSU and brought to BCU decision-makers by your Officer Team.
"I'm so happy the scheme has been rolled out, it shows how your feedback can make a difference, and the impact BCUSU can have!"- Jay Dave, BCUSU President
Jay has met regularly with BCU's Assistant Director of Estates and Facilities (responsible for Catering Services) to pass on feedback about students struggling to afford food on campus and needing reduced costs.
Along with BCUSU's Chief Exec, Jay met with BCU's Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Mba, who was very supportive of the issues. To prepare for the scheme, Jay created a report from a 'secret mission' to Aston University to compare prices and feedback potential changes to the University.
*Alcohol, bottled/canned drinks, confectionary, crisps and all pre-wrapped items are not included in discount. Scheme also includes free soup and fruit daily across various campus locations.
