Luke McCombe steps down as BCUSU President 2024/25, due to personal reasons.
As your Officer Team, Ashween, Harshal, Oluwadamilola and Shoukat will continue to represent and support students through their campaigns and projects until the end of the academic year.
In the interim, your Officer Team is working closely with BCUSU’s senior management team to ensure the core duties and responsibilities of the position are filled.
BCUSU thanks Luke for their hard work and accomplishments as BCUSU President and as Vice President Academic Experience in 2023/24.
Luke has always been a strong advocate for BCU students, making significant contributions to improving the student experience at BCU over the last 18 months as an Officer, and beforehand as a Course and Lead Rep.
As an Officer, Luke has attended meetings with the University and represented student interests in Academic Board, Learning and Teaching Quality Committee, Board of Governors, and more.
They've also worked on projects to tackle student issues, such as: lobbying to improve personal tutoring, lecture capture ability, enhancing the Student Rep System (including introducing Post Graduate Reps), and collaborating with BCU's Timetabling Team to guarantee timetables were released earlier than ever.
BCUSU wishes Luke the best of luck with their future endeavours.
