Could you help students settle in on campus and make them feel comfortable at BCUSU events? Is being friendly and helpful natural to you? Apply to become a Events and Reception Support Assistant

During BCUSU's Big Welcome we will be welcoming students through a variety of events and activities through September and beyond. We're looking for enthusiastic and approachable individuals who can help engage with students across all BCU campuses.

Successful applicants would be employed for the duration of BCUSU's Big Welcome and will need to be available all day on Tuesday 17th September, for our City South Social, and Wednesday 18th September for our Big Welcome Fair. 

Your availability will also be required on for in-person training on Friday 13th September from 3pm to 4:30pm. Please make it clear on your application if you're not available for any dates/times listed. Other shifts of varying length may become available for other Big Welcome events.

Please be advised that we cannot guarantee you a role at BCUSU Reception, postitions are limited and we will take into consideration your work throughout Big Welcome Period when selecting candidates 

 

What experience do you need? 

You do not need any previous experience to become an Events and Reception Assistant, however a positive attitude, willingness to speak with students and good communication skills will be key to this role.

 

What will you need to do? 

  • To improve student experience by providing a dynamic and friendly welcome to all students

  • To promote BCUSU services, activities and events

  • To support BCUSU staff at Big Welcome events

Salary 

£11.44 per hour.

 

Hours

5-10 hours during City South Social and Big Welcome Fair (Tue 17th and Wed 18th Sep). Additional hours will be available during other BCUSU events.  

 

Interviews

30 min chat to be arranged with BCUSU Reception Manager

 

Key dates

  • Training - Friday 13th September, 3pm - 4:30pm
  • City South Social - Tuesday 17th September, 10am-3pm
  • Big Welcome Fair - Wednesday 18th September, 10:30am - 3:30pm
